Five individuals arrested for retail theft, additional charges

AUBURN, Ala. - On July 14, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Ralph Christopher Hill, age 55, Timothy Thomas Reeves, age 30, Calvin Screws Jr., age 37, Shuan Treomel Hill, age 42 and Jomarie Paola Nieves, age 31, all from Columbus, Georgia.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a theft call at a business located in the 2300 block of Bent Creek Road. A staff member of the business reported multiple suspects stole items and entered a vehicle in the parking lot. As responding officers attempted to make contact, the suspect vehicle fled, engaging officers in a brief vehicle pursuit which ended near the 2500 block of East Glenn Avenue. Three suspects fled from the vehicle before being apprehended.

Police identified two additional suspects who remained near the business prior to fleeing on foot. Officers located and apprehended these suspects a short distance away from the business.

R. Hill was charged with organized retail theft, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana second degree and attempting to elude a police officer. Reeves and Screws were charged with organized retail theft and attempting to elude a police officer. S. Hill and Nieves were charged with organized retail theft.

R. Hill ($14,500 bond), Reeves ($13,000 bond), Screws ($13,000 bond), S. Hill ($10,000 bond) and Nieves ($10,000 bond) were all arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail to be held on bond.
